Do you have a passion for digital services for insight and trends? DMV's Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking a motivated technology-forward-thinking Product Architect to be a part of a dynamic team that serves in the Vehicle Registration (VR) Product Section. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the quality, reliability, and access of DMV Information Technology (IT) solutions. As a Product Architect, the incumbent will be instrumental in interpreting and presenting products and product information to stakeholders who will use it to make strategic business decisions.

The Product Architect is a Solutions/Application Architect and Development Lead. The incumbent is the highest expert in all things of development and is responsible for architecture, design, application development, documentation, managing backlogs and releases for IT projects and efforts impacting the Section. The incumbent possesses a master-level practical technical knowledge base, which includes emerging "cutting-edge" technologies; recognized as an industry expert in their area of specialization, exhibits a mastery level of team leadership qualities, and plays a major part in formulating technological strategy and policy; and responsibilities include the development of enterprise product architecture, providing strategic and tactical directions, and cross-domain expertise at a deep technical level.

In addition, the incumbent performs IT Product and Project Management, System and Software Engineering duties related to the product architecture, development, operation, and maintenance of software systems, including user research, user-centric design, development or configuration, testing, and implementation.

Working Conditions

DMV operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The incumbent may be required to carry a work cell phone and laptop. There may also be times when the incumbent is required to attend an out-of-town conference, or work evenings and weekends, and off shift hours to maintain project schedules.

Telework available. Telework requires California residency.

This position may be required to occasionally report to the designated office location in DMV headquarters at 2415 First Avenue, Sacramento, California, 95818 . Travel expenses related to reporting to designated office is employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.
