Starting salary: $36,192 - $40,534.80 (dependent on experience)

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Career Development Coach is responsible for coordinating beginning to end services for youth and young adults eligible and open to receiving Vocational Rehabilitation program services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: recruitment and identification of qualifying youth, completing referrals, accompanying clients with intakes, finding appropriate job placement sites for clients, maintaining relationships with employers and youths team, providing appropriate onsite support for clients, and assisting with Pre-Placement Training, Self-Advocacy classes and Internships (Work Based Learning Experiences) and documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize internal referral and program processes and train local system stakeholders of the new processes.
- Guarantee data collection and tracking of progress is purposeful and easily reportable to both Embrace Families and VR as requested.
- Searches for On the Job Training (OJT)/Work Based Readiness Learning Experience (WBLE) opportunities that match youth’s interests, abilities and are within a reasonable distance to their home.
- Serve as the Point of Contact for VR Liaisons to assist with any referral, documentation or service submissions needing attention.
- Assists enrolled youth during OJT’s to improve soft skills as well as build vocational skills. Give feedback and guidance to both employer and youth/young adult to ensure OJT is successful.
- Work with supervisors at partner job sites to ensure that any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Ensures good communication with youth's support team (caregiver, case worker, GAL, mentor, Advocate, etc.) so that they are aware of progress, challenges, or any issues that may arise during services.
- Writes detailed case notes for documenting all email, phone, text or in person interactions and input them into appropriate databases in a timely manner.
- Lead and support Vocational Rehabilitation Support Program Public Ally in overall job duties alongside Education and Career Development Manager.
- Co-facilitate self-advocacy and work readiness trainings throughout year
- Lead and support Vocational Rehabilitation Support Public Ally in overall job duties alongside Youth Services Assistant Director.
- Ensure internal referral and program processes are clear

- Act as Point of Contact for VR Points of Contact to assist with any referral, documentation or program requirements submissions needing attention.
- Facilitate Work Based Learning and Self Advocacy Training multiple times per year.
- Support staff in identifying potential community employers for Work Based Learning Internships or possible long term employment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
• Two years of experience in employment counseling, job placement, job coaching.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work /Human Services field
• Experience working with at-risk adolescents/young adults and/or those with developmental disability.
PREFERRED:
- Certification or specialized training in ADA services
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services field
- 2 years’ experience working in the child welfare system
SKILLS:
REQUIRED:
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with youth, mentors, agency and other stakeholder staff, and members of the community.
- Ability to travel locally to visit youth in their placements or job placements
- Proficient in the use of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust workload as necessary.
- Ability to analyze, integrate and report data.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff, subordinates and constituents.
- Demonstrate cultural and linguistic competence & sensitivity to population served
PREFERRED:
- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating in individual and large group settings.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with youth and/or adults with disabilities
- Experience and clear understanding of invoicing, monthly outcome tracking and coding
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
- Thorough Background Screening upon hire including FBI, FDLE, Local Law check, Employment Reference check, DMV check, Criminal Records check, Social Security Trace & Drug Screening. FDLE check will be run at least every 5 years.

- Travel- local: 40% per week, long-distance: 5% per month
