Salary Range:

$86,300 - $142,300

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

Organization 05575, Applied Machine Intelligence, is currently seeking a Virtual Reality/Unity developer to work on a team to build Augmented Reality (AR) experiences and Virtual Reality (VR) environments from design through to prototype to production.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Work with customers to gather requirements and provide guidance

  • Develop software to produce novel experiences for customers' needs

  • Work with the AR/VR team to brainstorm innovative solutions to challenging problems

  • Provide demos of capability to customers and partners

  • Effectively communicate and present on the team's work

Qualifications We Require:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field, plus 2 years relevant experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job

  • 2 years Unity Engine experience

  • 2 years experience developing either AR or VR applications

  • 2 years programming experience

  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Mobile development

  • Git software version control

  • Agile software development practices

  • Unix/Linux environments

  • Working in a collaborative environment

  • Strong software development skills in C#

The Applied Machine Intelligence department provides state-of-the-art technologies and expertise in virtual reality, machine learning, deep learning, and research engineering to a diverse portfolio of mission programs. Security Clearance:

Position Information:

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
