Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University, merging the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry's best cinematic storytelling to deliver unique virtual reality (VR) and 2D labs and full course experiences which are demonstrably efficacious, readily scalable and emotionally engaging. These VR labs combine the emotional power of Hollywood storytelling, the visceral excitement of theme park rides, and an extraordinary mix of full body tracking and interactivity to create stories and worlds that push the limits of what is possible in virtual reality.

We're seeking a creative, self-motivated, and collaborative UI/UX Artist . This opportunity could be an ideal fit if you possess a strong passion for creating and delivering cutting-edge educational products and solutions, encompassing virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. Under general direction, the UI/UX Artist will take on a variety of tasks, both independently and in collaboration with other artists, game developers, project leads, and other stakeholders, using emerging technology tools and artificial intelligence to create new story-driven experiences. This individual will improve the interactivity and user experience of assets.

For the first three months, this position will be required to travel to Los Angeles up to 5 days per week for comprehensive training facilitated by the expert LA Dreamscape Learn team. These business trips will be at ASU's expense subject to travel policies and procedures found here.

Essential Duties
Improve the look and feel of interactivity and visual clarity of experiences.
Suggest and create game assets and points of interaction that engage and captivate users.
Execute all visual design stages from initial concept to final delivery to engineering.
Prototype interactive experiences as needed.
Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user-friendliness to complex design roadblocks.
Create overall concepts for the user experience to ensure efficacy of user understanding and educational effectiveness, where relevant.
Regularly communicate technical, intuitive, and interactive constraints to other departments.
Create wireframes of user flows, and other graphics to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure visual style, user interaction, and narrative flow fit well within the project as a whole.
Help troubleshoot graphical issues related to UI/UX asset production.
Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and three (3) years of experience as a UI/UX artist/designer in game engines, Or, any equivalent combination of experience or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
Experience in UI/UX/design in game engines in a professional capacity.
Experience in video game content creation in a professional capacity with one or more shipped titles in your portfolio.
Experience crafting high quality assets for Web, iOS, Android, AAA games, and or VR.
Evidence of being comfortable building both with 2D and 3D UI elements.
Experience developing for Virtual Reality.
Evidence of expert understanding of adaptive, responsive, and fluid UI layout concepts.
Experience with Dreamscape Learn's SDK platform.
Evidence of a portfolio demonstrating relevant UI/UX skills with strong interaction design skills, visual design skills and a sensitivity to user-system interaction.
Skill to demonstrate understanding of UI development best practices, core principles and challenges of UI/UX from an artistic and technical perspective, and common UI/UX technical architecture and patterns.
Proficiency with Photoshop, illustrator, After Effects, Maya, and Unity.
Experience with version control software such as Perforce, Plastic, SVN, Git, Bit Bucket.
Experience coding or integrating software in game engines, with visual scripting tools, or web development with HTML, CSS, C#.
Experience with Project Management Tools such as Jira, Shotgun, Trello, etc.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently.
Experience building educational content.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, creative environment.
Ability to adapt to changing creative direction.

Working Environment

This position work location is Tempe Campus.

Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting or standing. Daily use of desktop or laptop computer is required. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential duties. Regular review of completed tasks.
