**Position description**

A hands-on AR\\VR Engineer that will serve as the technical lead for the development of biomedical-related engineering systems related to augmented and virtual reality in cardiology; possesses knowledge of tools, programming languages, design techniques frameworks relevant to the development of AR/VR/MR systems (Unity and/or Unreal); able to think outside of the box and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to find solutions to problems. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills; regularly summarizes and communicates the results of work efforts to project team members and management in a clear, concise and timely manner; accomplishes assigned tasks and manages multiple priorities. Understands relevant components of the Department's IT security and quality management system and participates in safety risk management activities. Is a self-starter who excels in a multi-disciplinary development environment. Represents the department in technical conversations with external partners. Communicates effectively in writing and conversation. This position will be the technical lead for the Virtual Reality program within the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine. Will partner closely with the physician leader to create and advance innovative MR/AR/VR and related technologies. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong programming skills in virtual reality or gaming; experience in healthcare is preferred. The candidate selected will be encouraged to publish their work in scientific journals and conferences and to apply for academic appointments (assistant professor etc.)

**Qualifications**

BS in Engineering or a related field and 5 years of professional engineering experience;

Or MS in Engineering or related field and 3 year of professional engineering experience;

Or, PhD in Engineering or related field and 1 year of professional engineering experience.

**Additional qualifications**

Masters or PhD preferred.

**Compensation Detail**

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. $89,772 - $134,638 annually
