Excellent opportunity in a fast-growing, profitable, IT software company on the path towards going public. Senior Accounting Manager will have responsibility for software revenue recognition with multiple arrangement (VSOE), and implementing SOX process, working through number of global implementations with Eon team.

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for managing and directing the company’s accounting for US operating and the production of periodic internal and external financial reports, maintenance of an effective system of internal controls and accounting records and ensures that reported results are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

The Senior Accounting Manager will gain a deep understanding of key elements of the business in order to provide Company managers with effective and useful information to assist in their execution of their job responsibilities. As such, this candidate will have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. A person with proven achievement in leading Accounting Teams, financial reporting, and managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines and priorities will be successful in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Revenue Recognition with Multiple arrangement (VSOE). ASC 605 and 606.
  • Experience working with Deferred Revenue, Churn, renewals, Annual Recurring Booking and Revenue including managing full book of business and creating board materials as required.
  • Managing full cycle billings, collections, and follow-up with customers.
  • Manage the Accounting Department for the accurate, complete, and timely distribution of financial results and management reports including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and cash flow statements and reports, etc.
  • Experienced with working with Professional services team to ensure that proper billings for services, expenses reimbursement, revenue recognition etc. takes place.
  • ERP Implementation experience with NetSuite.
  • Ensure all external reporting and compliance obligations are fulfilled
  • Work with global team members to streamline processes.
  • Working with quarterly reviews, annual audit, and other compliances.
  • Manage periodic financial and tax audits including income and sales & use tax audits and annual financial and 401(k) Plan audits
  • Oversee the application and use of the Company’s ERP system and other software platforms within the Accounting Department to ensure the systems are fully leveraged within the department and are operating as designed.
  • Ensure the integrity and efficiency of payables management
  • Create and implement effective internal controls over the financial reporting process in order to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Manage various statutory requirements including sales & use tax audits, property tax filings and local and federal income tax filings (actual tax filings prepared by local firm)
  • Streamline and improve accounting processes including inventory accounting and accounts payable processing and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy
  • Assist in the annual budget and forecast preparation, preparing financial and management reports to external and internal stakeholders
  • Support the organization with key projects by provided requested data and analytics (audit, bank financing, acquisition due diligence, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by Controller and CFO

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Under Graduation in Accounting and CPA
  • Minimum Experience: 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding and application of US GAAP
  • Software Industry experience ($10M to $100M)
  • Strong understanding of the design and implementation of effective internal controls and other accounting policies and procedures
  • Strong ERP system background; advanced knowledge of MS Office Products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to master new ERP systems helpful
  • Proven leadership, direction and management of accounting teams
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong and confident decision-making and adaptability: ability to respond effectively and with discretion to sensitive inquiries or issues and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to take initiative individually and work independently and as a Leader of the Accounting Team and take on difficult new tasks
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
  • Proven high standards of performance, eager to pursue aggressive goals, and works hard and smart to achieve them
