About the Position:

We are seeking a Practice Director who is a subject matter expert in the AR/VR (Augmented / Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality) field. As a Practice Director you will bring expertise to GenUI, and build & lead a team that will help our technology clients successfully reach their goals. Additionally, you will focus on deeply understanding our clients' objectives, building trusting client relationships, providing subject matter expertise, scoping prospective projects, delivering amazing project work, and positioning GenUI as the “go to” consulting partner for bleeding edge projects across business and technology. You will spend your days with our clients to understand their environments & industry, recognize their opportunities & constraints, deliver on client projects, oversee our delivery work, develop & implement strategies that marry GenUI's capabilities and client needs in the pursuit of building support the delivery of your given practice

Your Contribution:

• Partner with our Business Development and Marketing teams to go to market with a valuable and competitive services offering in the AR/VR sector.
• As a leader of the practice, build and be responsible for an annual services portfolio of $3M+. Ensure high quality, client satisfaction, and profitability. Manage risk, and ensure the long-term growth of the practice in both capability and client value.
• Partner with Technical Program Managers, Product/UX Design, Solution Architecture, and Engineering to scope projects. Once the engagement starts, develop insights, support the business strategy, and gather and document both insights and business requirements.
• Collaborate with, and mentor our Crew Chiefs and Tech Leads with a relentless focus on quality and client value.
• Serve our team with leadership and support to ensure our clients' expectations are exceeded and our overall client satisfaction is exceptional.
• Participate in project delivery and spend 40% of your time working on the exciting engagements comprising your practice area.
• Contribute to case studies, thought leadership content, and other practice-centric marketing activities.
• Hire, shape and lead delivery teams. Ensure your team has career development and shape high performing individuals into high performing teams.

Your Experience:

• 7+ years technology experience in the 3D computing industry

• Prior consulting experience is required
• BA/BS Degree
• Author of 6+ technical publications.
• 2+ technical certifications in your area of expertise
• 5+ years management/leadership experience
• 3+ years participating in solution-based sales, and helping identify and drive solutions for clients
• 2+ years of project budget responsibility required, P&L responsibility preferred
• 3+ years of relevant professional software development and architecture experience
• Excellent multi-language development and architecture skills, including both low-level (such as C,C++,Rust, or assembly) and high-level (such as JavaScript, React JS, C# or Python)
• A proven track record of delivering high quality solutions for technical challenges

• Desire to be a Product Visionary and the Executive Sponsor who establishes the path, relationship, rules of engagement, clarifies product vision and holds the product vision through delivery

• Advanced project delivery experience

• Video/audio codecs and protocols; high-performing real-time video/audio encoding/decoding
• Software architecture and API design
• Experience with graphics APIs such as DirectX or Vulkan
• Experience with game engines and graphics APIs such as Unity, Unreal, WebGL or DirectX
• Working knowledge of modern CPU+GPU hardware and typical performance bottlenecks
