Job Title: Office Help/ Reader Services- Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Office (VR&E) - 30hrs per week/ part-time Location : Salem, VA- Must be able to work in a professional office environment that includes a service dog for the visually impaired employee, as well as their home which is their primary work location.

Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Office (VR&E) Additional: Part-time position- 30 hours per week Contract: Ravens Group, Inc. / Supporting- Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Office (VR&E) Period of Performance: 1 -year base contract w/ 4-years options= 5-year's contract Start Date: Start date- ASAP Salary: $16.20 per hour Additional: The contractor is responsible for reader services, between the hours of 7:45 am - 4:15 pm Monday thru Friday except Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed Clearance Requirement: Must be able to pass an NACI background check investigation. The Ravens Group, Inc. is in an active bidding process for this position, which is contingent upon The Ravens Group, Inc. being awarded the contract.

Scope of Work:

  • The selected candidate will be required to provide up to thirty (30) hours of reading work and minor computer assistance a week for our Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment office (VR&E).
  • The hours will be scheduled on a weekly basis. If the reader anticipates being unavailable for more than one week at a time, an alternate/backup reader, who has taken all mandatory VA training courses, will need to be provided.
  • The candidate must provide one individual to perform reader/assistant duties to a visually impaired Supervisory Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor.
  • Reader responsibilities will include, but not limited to many different VA computer systems: BDN, CAPRI, COVERS, CWINRS, TMS, ETA, VBMS, Virtual VA, DRAGON and SHARE screens not accessible with screen reader, ensuring formatted letters and forms are correct and assisting in reading/digitally signing PDF documents.
  • Reader will assist in spreadsheet manipulations.
  • Reader will also assist with reviewing leave requests in VATAS, training on TMS 2.0 - to include: Reader will assist Counselor in online training format; setting up computer, providing responses to online questions after counselor orally replies to questions and ensures training is documented in the online system, reviewing case files for quality assurance, reviewing work of subordinates, which require Supervisor's approval to include request for supplies, Advances from the Revolving Fund, Entitlement Extensions, Retroactive Inductions, and & High-Cost Requests, reviewing applications for employment, Credit Card reconciliation statements, conducting local QA reviews, and reviewing CER and digital files for case transfer.
  • Reader will assist Supervisor in ensuring documents are in case files. This will require flipping through hard and digital copies of case documents to verify all items required are in the case file.
  • Reader will also provide other reading assistance as required by the Supervisory VRC position.
  • Travel companionship may be required for official government travel.

Qualifications:

Key project personnel shall have successfully participated in the completion of similar projects.
