 Summary

Potential to make up to $25\/hour with experience.  Plan, organize, and oversees the daily activities of crew, including designating material staging areas, overseeing and training individuals in restoration installations, crew personnel management, scheduling, and issues. The foreman will be responsible for assuring that the work is performed in the safest, highest quality, and most cost-effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma\/GED
  • Years of Experience 1-3 years minimum in waterproofing, masonry restoration, and\/or stucco\/EIFS
  • Certifications: none required
  • Driver\u2019s License: required

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of safety techniques and procedures, set up of safety plans, including toolbox talks, and safety huddles.
    • Knowledge of how to install common materials utilized in building restoration.
    • Knowledge of general construction materials and tools utilized in the construction and\/or repair of buildings.

      Skills:

      • Attention to detail, able to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
      • Interpersonal and leadership skills needed to motivate and work with a team.

        Abilities:

        • The ability to communicate information and ideas verbal and written so others will understand.
        • Ability to organize plan and execute work assignments.
        • Ability to read drawings, specs, and manufacturer\u2019s data to apply these in the field.
        • Ability to train crew members.
        • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions to accomplish work in a timely manner.
        • Ability to use oral or written communication to convey information effectively to customers and receive manufacturers training.
        • Ability to fulfill recordkeeping requirements; timekeeping, safety huddles, equipment inspections, toolbox talks, material requisitions, and production reports.

          Essential Functions

          • Thoroughly review documents assigned by PM\/CM including scope of work, materials lists, schedules, and job site contacts.
          • Ensure that proper safety and equipment is on site and used properly.  Foreman must coordinate these needs with the PM but is ultimately responsible.
          • Supervise and support crew every day regarding safety, quality, and productivity. Monitor and maintain jobsite cleanliness and daily housekeeping.
          • Ensure that all materials received are inventoried and quantities match the ordered quantities.
          • Proactively manage material inventories to provide adequate materials  for production needs and prevent delays due to material shortages.
          • Make sure equipment inspections are performed and service scheduled as required. Notify supervisor immediately if equipment is defective or broken.
          • Communicate with the PM daily regarding job progress, obstacles, technical questions, etc.
          • Complete all daily recordkeeping as directed by Dept. Head.
          • Responsible for overall safety compliance and quality control on their jobsite This includes watertightness, completion of all tasks\/work items and cleanup of the site.
          • Install joint sealants (liquid applied and pre-formed).
          • Prepare substrates and perform concrete repair (horizontal, vertical, and overhead).
          • Perform masonry restoration (historic and modern).
          • Perform stucco\/EIFS installation and\/or repair.
          • Install air, water, and vapor barriers.
          • Apply coatings to building surfaces.
          • Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly.
          • Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, and equipment.
          • Train and coach other employees.
          • Assure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
          • Other duties as assigned.

            Physical Demands

            • Requires standing for long periods of time.
            • Requires climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolds, or poles.
            • Requires considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body to climb, lift, balance, walk and handle materials.
            • Requires use of abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
            • Requires ability to see details at close range.
            • Requires repetitive movement, bending, twisting, kneeling crouching, stooping, or crawling.
            • Requires physical ability to stand and walk, lift and carry items weighing 50 pounds regularly.

              Work Environment

              • Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
              • Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.
              • Includes exposure sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable.
              • Includes exposure to contaminants, hazardous materials, or equipment.
              • Mistakes are not easily correctable and have serious consequences, therefore SAFETY PROCEEDURES must be followed.
              • Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts bites or stings.
              • Requires exposure to heights or other dangerous conditions.
              • Requires travel.
