Hardware Job Description:

POWER VALIDATION:

Mandatory:

 Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and fundamental power circuit validation concepts.

 Experience in electrical circuit testing to validate electrical parameters of power supply design including DC-DC converters, multi-phase regulators, LED/Display backlight drivers, Battery chargers etc.

 Experience in VR Testing including SMPS, LDO, LDSW in battery operated system.

 Experience in VR measurement including Line-Load Regulation, Noise, Ripple, Efficiency, OCP, OVLO, Static Load and Transient Load Testing.

 Experience in Point-of-Load (POL) Testing.

 Experience in Power Design validation for consumer electronics products including Battery-operated devices.

 Proficiency in using Hardware design validation equipment such as Mixed Signal Oscilloscope, DC Power Analyzer, Electronic Load, DMM and DC power supplies.

 Ability to define, create electrical test plan to validate the complete power sub-system of a product.

 Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis techniques for power supply circuit issues.

Nice to Have:

 Experience with test automation solutions and python knowledge for test equipment control.

 Familiarity with power design/validation for any SoCs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA etc) specific power supply circuits.

Battery and Thermal VALIDATION:

Mandatory:

Design validation of battery functionality and its safety features. Activities include develop and execution of test plans and procedures.

Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing. Identification of test tool requirements. Must be able to execute tests with little to no supervision.

Find complex bugs, root cause and track them while recording and informing others of all appropriate and relevant info.  

 Understanding of Battery fundamentals such as different battery chemistries and their characteristics.

 Understanding of Battery charging profile, Battery terms like FCC, RSOC, C value, lifetime, termination current, pre-charge current, fast charging / turbo charging, deep discharge voltage.

 Knowledge of Fuel Gauge, Battery Balancing circuits, Protection circuitry for battery (Over voltage, Over current, low voltage, Battery temperature etc.)

 Knowledge of different types of Power supplies.

 Programming skills in Labview/ batch programming /Python is a plus.

 Hands-on experience in the development of high-volume consumer electronic product is desired.  

 Familiar with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, DC loads, DC power analyzer, thermal chambers etc.

 Familiar with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (preferably Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer).

Nice to Have:

 Ability to take high level test plans and develop detailed test cases and procedures.

 Independent problem solving and general debugging of complex PCB designs.

 Excellent interpersonal, influencing, leadership, verbal and written communication skills required, including ability to clearly present test results, data parsing and analyzing.

 Great organization and time management skills.

 Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks given by engineering team and delivering high quality, detailed results.

 Automation/Scripting knowledge - Labview, Powershell, python, perl

LTE RF Hardware Domain:

Mandatory Skills

RF front-end components, link budget analysis, digital modulation schemes

RF Transmitters and Receiver Parametric Testing for LTE, WCDMA and GSM

Receiver desensitization measurements, noise-profiling, co-existence measurements and testing

RF Calibration, verification of modem RF front-end.

Experienced with RF Equipment like Wireless Communication Tester (CMW-500, MT8820, UXM Series), Signal analyzers (PXA, FSW), VNA and power meters

Good Knowledge on communication theory, wireless systems, propagation considerations, signal processing, analog and digital filtering

RF Test & measurement data analysis & debug

3GPP Specification for RF conformance (GSM, WCDMA, LTE & 5G-NR) 36.101, 36.521.xx, 25.101/102 etc

RF Station Calibration.

QC Tools - QPST, PCAT QUTS, QDART Tools and QXDM

Good To have

QXDM log analysis, QSPR Scripting

RF Transmitters and Receiver Parametric Testing for 5G-NR FR1 (sub6) and FR2 (millimeter wave) Bands

Cellular call flow and understanding of protocol

Automation/Scripting knowledge - Labview, Powershell, python, perl
