This position works in Fort Myers as a Staff Development Training Consultant.

A Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and CRC is preferred.

Job Description:

The incumbent will report to the Area Director and is responsible for using HQ approved materials in the delivery of training to new and existing staff in their area. In coordination with their area leadership, the trainer will help to identify, report and record all training efforts conducted in the area and consult with LDO for development, implementation, and evaluation of learning events. Additionally, the trainer is responsible for keeping their learning and development skills current and providing support for training initiatives that may involve multiple areas, as assigned by leadership and LDO.

Delivering RIMS-based training as prescribed

Conduct virtual or face-to-face trainings for staff on RIMS using provided curricula

Monitor the completion of required trainings by staff

Participate in the follow-along education of a new staff as prescribed by the unit's supervisor (e.g. the Longboarding To-Do list)

Complete end-of-training reports and evaluations for all sessions conducted for new counselors by the area trainer

Training existing staff based on agency training initiatives and requests

Identifying prescriptive training needs based on data and feedback

Deliver approved training content to field staff based upon agency training initiatives

Collect and log Ad-hoc training requests from Unit Supervisors, Area Supervisors and Area Directors

Consult with LDO to develop training strategies and materials for every training event

Complete end-of-training reports and evaluations for all sessions conducted for existing staff

Submit relevant training requests to LDO for CRC credit review

Provide SME support during the content development review process and/or coordinates the identification other SMEs within their area to assist in the content development reviews

Training existing staff based on quality reviews

Consult with LDO to develop training strategies, materials and measurement criteria for each training event

Run reports at appropriate intervals for improvement comparison

Work with the quality assurance team and PICs, where possible, to write recommendations for improvement

Professional Development

Participate in online trainings related to training, education, learning and development, facilitation mastery or other job-relevant topic

Participate in in-service trainings provided by LDO

Create and deliver research-based presentations of new content to LDO and the other Area Trainers to promote trainer growth

Implement the recommendation given by LDO from the trainer survey evaluation data to continually improve training delivery skills

Other tasks as assigned

Support ACED, SST and other training events as assigned

Stay abreast of agency policy, procedures, and other statutory and industry standards

Participate in bi-weekly video conference calls monthly with the LDO team

Provide logistics support (e.g. site visits, technical assistance)

Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional or technical experience in areas such as training, teaching, staff development, research, evaluation, and personnel.

A Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and CRC is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Extensive RIMS knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of VR policies and procedures

Competent in other VR applications

At least 3 years of VR counseling experience

Demonstrate and use effective needs analysis, course development, and evaluation skills.

Knowledge of the principles of learning theories, adult learning, communication, research, and implementation methodologies including use of assistive technology and other accommodations.

Demonstrate and use leadership skills

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and usage, to accurately develop, edit and present quality training and instruction

Able to utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools

Ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects

Ability to set up, operate, and tear down equipment such as LCD projectors, laptops, & assistive listening devices;

Ability to set up rooms to best facilitate learning and utilize available space, in compliance with ADA accessibility guidelines;

Skill in conducting research.

Skill in utilizing problem-solving techniques;

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation;

Ability to prepare research studies, recommendations and evaluation reports;

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Background Screening Requirement:
