 ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a District Sales Leader to cover Virginia, Maryland, and DC area.

Position Summary:

We are looking for experienced sales professionals who love to win, work hard, are passionate, persistent, inquisitive, creative, confident, work well in a team - and lead that team, is a problem solver with excellent communication, networking and program management skills. Is that you? This is a dynamic, multi-functional position that involves elements of marketing, business development, consulting, sales, communication, and customer engagement roles. You will identify and build new client relationships, leading internal teams, developing a macro-market strategy, facilitating industry events, finding opportunities to serve prospective client missions, and facilitating extraordinary internal communication efforts with all of the many internal partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for all sales in the district.  Directs sales activities and contacts in the District assigned.
  • Leads the training, supervises and evaluates district sales personnel in conjunction with the Area Sales Manager.
  • Assigns customers, distributors, engineers, and architects to Fields Sales Engineers.
  • Maintains direct personal contact with principal customers, distributors, architects and engineers.  Spends majority of time in the field selling assigned customers and distributors, promoting the specification of ASCO equipment, and assisting Field Sales Engineers.
  • Supervises preparation of quotations and sales negotiations.  Ensures appropriate activity is tracked in the company CRM.
  • Arranges for Field Sales Engineer to cover each other’s territories, when necessary.
  • Supervises distribution of factory sales leads to Field Sales Engineer
  • Reports to Area Sales Manager on new developments and requirements in the District.
  • Seeks new potential markets and uses for ASCO products.
  • Establishes and supervises adequate and efficient office routines.
  • Determines effectiveness of distributors, products, and programs, and recommends necessary changes to management.
  • Reports significant information regarding customer’s financial reliability, based on observations made during personal sales calls or sales calls made by Field Sales Engineer.  (This is particularly important in the case of new accounts and existing accounts where changes in customer status are observed or large dollar amounts are involved.
