As an Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR & VR), you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be responsible for designing augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences to deliver satellite manufacturing training to technicians, and interactive experiences to customers. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing AR & VR solutions for manufacturing, identifying the right opportunities requires working with all stakeholders in the Technology, Operations and Engineering organizations. The candidate will be responsible for the full life cycle of AR & VR at the company, from identification of processes, development and implementation, implementation of solutions in the factory, and monitoring effectiveness and making improvements over the life cycle.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with operations and engineering to identify opportunities for process implementation in our manufacturing of satellites
  • Develop Augmented/Virtual Reality training packages that allow for:
    • Proper operation of the automation systems
    • Proper build and test of satellite electromechanical sub-assemblies
    • Proper build and test of satellite buses
  • Develop immersive Augmented/Virtual Reality customer experience packages
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical degree
  • Proficient in the use of laboratory and manufacturing equipment
  • Self-motivated and able to work quickly and effectively starting with only high-level objectives
  • High attention to detail; ability to preempt design/manufacturing issues
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a high-reliability manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, or similar, internship experience can count towards this)

Additional Differentiators

  • Experience designing Augmented or Virtual Reality work instructions (Scope AR, Augmentir, Taqtile, or similar)
